In the latest single “Banksia Seed“, singer/songwriter Peter Marsh, becomes a ‘one man band’ playing every instrument for the first time. Each recorded one at a time, then mixed together for the final result
The ongoing plan is not to be the only human playing on TC’s songs forever but at present Peter is in a massive learning phase and enjoying every minute of it. It will only get better from here…
“Banksia Seed“ is a bit of a holiday song with heavy nature themes, hence the release timing and being summer in Australia. Or it could even be a ‘return to work and keep chilling song’ depending on when you catch it. BS is a little number that Peter’s been jamming to himself for the last 10 years, outside on his acoustic bass and decided it was time to record with some new sounds added in
Peter says ‘Over the last decade I’ve seen a decline in the larger Coastal Banksia trees where I live in NSW, which has affected the Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo’s movements around here’. So alongside planting more of them, I’ve recently recorded a positive song called ‘Banksia Seed’ to raise awareness, hope you may enjoy it’
Beyond the music, Trophic Cascade carries a meaningful call to action. The plan is to build a team, who together support nature and express the hopes for the future. Helping more and more people to see things from nature’s perspective and not only focusing specifically on human needs
